Flight Lieutenant Mark Brittain RAF VR(T)

OC 2168 (Yeadon) Squadron

Formerly a cadet at 40F (Maidstone) Squadron, Flt Lt Brittain is on his second tour with 2168 having previously been with the Squadron as a Warrant Officer from 1990 to 1994. He has also served with 1224 (Wharfedale) Sqn as well as his first command at 868 (Mirfield) Squadron.

A former Gallery Range Conducting Officer and Trained Drill Instructor, Flt Lt Brittain took command of 2168 in July 2000 having transferred in earlier that year and since that time, the Squadron has been incredibly successful across the broad spectrum of activities as well as securing four consecutive Wing nominations for the Lees Trophy. He has a wealth of experience on UK Summer Camps as well as an overseas camp at Cyprus as well as attending the Royal Review of the RAF, representing South & West Yorkshire Wing, on the 75th Anniversary of the RAF.

Mark works as an NVQ Assessor/Trainer for the NHS and is a Psychiatric Nurse by profession. He is married to Helen, has three children and is extremely passionate about association football and Leeds United Football Club.
