Flight Lieutenant Tony Young RAF VR(T)

Flt Lt Young first joined the squadron in 1990 as a Civilian Instructor bandmaster when the squadron was based at Greenacre Hall.
After being commissioned in 1992 he was posted to 168 (City of Leeds) Squadron as 2IC and held the same post at 2490 (Spen Valley) Squadron before been handed his own Command at 185 (Batley) Squadron.
After 7 years, of being a Squadron Commander, he has finally returned "home" to 2168. Currently the Squadron's Director of Music, working with and complementing the Bandmaster, he is one of the major factors in the success of the Squadron Band.
Due to his drive and commitment to Music in the Air Cadet Organization he was honoured to be appointed as Regional Band Officer for North Region.
In his other life Tony works as a craftsman in framing along with being an accomplished musician, compere and comedian.
